Circa 1880, mahogany demi lune side table with a flamed mahogany top. The solid top has a carved fore edge in the form of waves. Below this is a small beading that runs the whole way around. Below the beading is a wonderful carved and detailed frieze which combines oval flower heads with foliate carving between and a carved wave which continues along the entire frieze. The carving is relief and extends beyond the frieze itself. The table stands on four legs with similar oval fan carvings at the top, and the legs are tapered with fluting and reeding and finish on a stylish foot. Overall condition is excellent. Wonderful colour and good size.
