Circa 1880, late Victorian carved walnut ladies chair. With a shaped back panel newly upholstered and deep buttoned with a stylish shell pattern contained within a profusely carved frame with flower heads, small finials and turned uprights. There are 4 uprights on the back of the chair, 2 supporting the panel section and 2 as decorative. With large stuffover seat and bow front with a simple apron and beading at the top and the bottom. The shaped back legs finish on brass and porcelain castors and the front legs have carved rondels then fluted with a variety of turnings, taperings, and reeding, finishing with a deep cast brass bezel and a brown porcelain castor beneath it.
