Circa 1900, carved oak aneroid barometer with a makers name “James Ballantyne & Sons, 52 Virginia Street, Glasgow”. The well carved case with its foliate top above a glazed and framed thermometer which is in both Fahrenheit and Centigrade with a white porcelain back. There is a raised oak bezel with the barometer in the centre, with stylish writing, good pattern and moveable arms. It is held in place by a brass bezel. Beneath this there is a further carved section. The barometer is clean, stylish and functional.
