Circa 1870, Victorian oak Roman style Gothic revival hall chair. The solid back has a central carved motif and there are 2 large shaped arms with open fretwork at the sides with a Gothic style window and foliate carving. The solid seat has a heavy front rail. Beneath the seat are X framed legs with scratch carving, supported by a large turned stretcher. Wonderful colour and patination.
