Circa 1870, classic mid Victorian walnut and burr walnut inlaid oval breakfast table. The top with its matching burr walnut quarter veneers and geometric marquetry inlay in 4 segments. The moulded edge has a running grain, above the apron with burr walnut and a half round beading. The top sits on a mahogany block and has its original pins and clasp. The block is held in position by 4 turned supports and has a very elaborate base with a wonderful carved finial which sits on a shaped and raised walnut bezel. At the base of the supports there is also a carved section similar to the finial. From this there are 4 carved walnut cabriole legs with carving at the sides and finishing on white porcelain castors.
