Circa 1900, square Chinese low pedestal table. The top with its wonderful figured marble with rounded corners is embedded in a frame of well figured huanghuali wood. There is a concave moulded edge and beneath this is a convex apron. The frieze is carved with foliate carving with flowers and scrolling branches. Beneath this there is a section with open faux bamboo. This occurs on all 4 sides and runs down the quarter brackets for the legs also. The foliate carving runs half way down the legs and finishes with a slight scroll. Beneath this there are 4 legs which are round on the front, square on the back and finish in a stylised ball and claw foot. This table has a wonderful coloured marble top.
