Circa 1880, set of cast brass, cast iron and porcelain scales. With a cast iron top section with open fretwork in a rococo pattern on the side and finishing on the top with a narrow shaped head. On the left hand side are 3 metal rods that come down which are linked and at the other side there is a shaped arm continuing down. There is a large porcelain disc at the base which says W & T Avery, Birmingham. Either side can be used to weigh items. The base of the scales is blackened cast iron with a cut out section to the front and sides and stylish casting and stylised feet.
