Circa 1880, very unusual late Victorian stick stand, made in brass, copper and cast iron. The copper demi lune top has a panel depicting a nocturnal scene in cast brass. Beneath this is a serpentine piece of brass to retain the sticks and umbrellas. The two uprights continue down to the base which has two curved brass brackets on each corner and a brass insert to retain the water. The whole base is made in cast iron, is moulded and lies flush on the floor.
