There is a wonderful cast border depicting thistles and thistle heads. With a central heraldic shield in French, roughly translating as: ‘Border Blend’ Famous whisky by J. Shiels – Spirits Trader in Kelso, Scotland – Mixing the best – Whiskys Distilled in Scotland. The unusual barrel could have been made in France and it is a rare piece.
